I got into EBS which is the school Jayce went to, and it is basically rhe same as the JMSS test.
EBS (Elizabeth Blackburn Sciences) is part of Uni High and has a very small cohort and very limited entry.
Trust me guys, I studied for barely a month while in year 11 and got in for year 12 entry. Unfortunately I did have to decline the offer because of travel time but It is not difficult at all. It's also way easier than the selective tests.
Verbal reasoning is fairly easy, you can use youtube to help
Maths is basic year 8 maths, so just make sure you can do quadratics, basic algebra, angles and basic geometry. Since it's no calculator it should not be difficult anyway
Basically for science just familiarize yourself with EXTREMELY BASIC SCIENCE SKILLS.
For example - writing an experiment, iv, dv, controlled variables
types of experiments
bioethics (integrity, justice, etc)
very basic physics formulas
balancing equations and basic chemistry
I promise you it's not difficult. I also sat the written essay on Bioethics for EBS within 20 minutes and sat the interview.
I know it's different to year 12 entry, but trust me you can do it. You don't even have to lock in just spend around 30 mins dedicated to prep if you really want it. Hope this helped !
