can yall give feedback (dm the ai prompt lol) Prompt: â¨Aim:â¨To investigate how different amounts of light affect the growth of bean plants.â¨Hypothesis:â¨If the plant has an increased exposure to light, then the plant will grow more.
Method (Simplified):â¨Three identical pots were filled with the same type and amount of soil.
A bean seed was planted in each pot.
Pot A was placed in full sunlight (next to a window).
Pot B was placed in partial sunlight (near a shaded window).
Pot C was placed in a dark cupboard.
All pots were watered with 50 mL of water every two days.
The plants were observed and measured over 10 days.
Results (Table Format):â¨Potâ¨Light Conditionâ¨Average Height After 10 Days (cm)â¨Leaf Colourâ¨Aâ¨Full Sunlightâ¨15 cmâ¨Bright greenâ¨Bâ¨Partial Sunlightâ¨8 cmâ¨Pale greenâ¨Câ¨No Light (Dark)â¨2 cmâ¨Yellowish, weak
Your Task:â¨Write the Discussion and Conclusion sections of the report.â¨In the Discussion, explain what the results mean, why the plants grew differently, and what might have affected the experiment.
In the Conclusion, summarise the findings and relate them back to the aim.â¨STARTâ¨DISCUSSIONâ¨The aim of this investigation was to investigate the effect that light has on the growth of plants. Three identical bean plants were placed under three different conditions, full light exposure, partial light exposure and little/no light (dark). The plants grew to a height of 15cm, 8 cm and 2 cm respectively. The results show a linear and positive trend: as the sunlight exposure increased, so did the plantâs growth.â¨This is due to plants requiring sunlight for growth, as plants are autotrophs and require their own food, which they make through photosynthesis. Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts, requiring Carbon Dioxide, water and light energy (sunlight) to produce glucose, and oxygen. This glucose is used as the plant's source of energy. Therefore, if the plant is not given adequate sunlight, as the conditions in the experiment, they will not be able to properly grow. This is why the particle and no light exposure grew much less compared to the plant that received enough light.â¨A possible error of this experiment may have been the conditions that the plants were in, as the light exposure was based off of what was outside, and that there may have been much light given to the plant which was supposed to be given full sunlight if the sun was not facing the window etc. This can be fixed by using a synthetic light source for all the plants, as all possible factors of the environment are controlled. â¨To further extend this experiment, this experiment could then be trialed with different wavelengths of light and light intensity - instead of the mere presence of light. If these extensions were investigated upon, this experiment would be able to be applied into real life with the conservation of plants - as using experiments such as these can be used to find the ideal amount of light, as well as the limit of light to the plantâs photosynthesis. This can be used when indoor farming in food shortages, or be used to help dying populations of plants improve their population numbers.â¨CONCLUSIONâ¨The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of light on plant growth. The hypothesis was supported, as it stated that as the plant had more light, then the growth would increase. This is shown by the results, which displayed the plant with full sunlight growing 15cm, wheres the light with no sunlight growing 2 cm. This was due to the plant needing light for photosynthesis, which produces the energy for the plant to grow. Possible errors include unaccounted for factors which may have caused the plant to receive the right amount of light, which can then be fixed by making a synthetic environment to conduct the experiment in. Further extensions could be to test light intensity and wavelengths.
FEEDBACK
I learnt it uh from my mum, she still studies in uni and I read some of her assignemnts TwT and also my key tip is, when writing an essay (it can be any type) just write a whole paragraph of what you think, what the question is asking about and it can be bad because it's fine. It's a way of warm up and gathering your ideas together. Though, this would not be applicable in short timed writings. And JUST BE VERY VERY MINDFUL OF grammar, punctuation, vocab.
