Hey! I go to Macrob (literally in maths rn) but for the selective test the best thing I can say is to thoroughly understand the year 8 curriculum and not go over that AT ALL. I can't type up everything rn but if you have questions ill be happy to answer them

i_need_mental_asylum I have a few questions, will the reading comp and verbal ability test be similar to the old edutest exam format and difficultly? Also, for a top 10 in reading and verbal, what percentage scores do you roughly need (like +90%)?

Eraser haha, for math it was pretty hard, English sections were insanely easy, especially verbal

asianasen fr? even rc? were there tons of inferential questions and such or was it more "main idea" or "theme" type questions

oh, thx. seems pretty challenging, but eh I still have 22 days so I might have a chance (I am not starting to prepare now for the entire test, but js locking in for maths and nr).

okay so i dont think there is a necessary score you need to get, it just depends on how smart the cohort is, so there isnt a specific number. like lets say everyone is rlly intelligent and everyone scores aroun 80-100% so then 85 wouldnt be enough.. i mean you could try to aim for 95+ but it depends on your cohort if that makes sense (it probs doesnt im just yapping)

also those “how many odd numbers/ numbers that are the same reversed eg. 151 are there in 178-456” type questions i desperately need help

a📀 bruh if ur struggling or if u dont know a formula just list them

odd numbers:
181, 191, skip 200-300, 10 for 300-400, skip 400 onward
total is 2 + 10 = 12

all numbers:
181, 191, 10 for 200-300, 10 for 300-400, 404, 414, 424, 434, 444, 454
total is 2 + 10 + 10 + 6 or 28

if im being honest you should be able to gauge how long a question should take you and whether or not its "worth" the mark, id probably just skip it

a📀 for reversed then just know there are one in every 10 after 100, so 101, 111, 121, 131, 141, 151 etc. so from 178-456, u do 45-17=28 or count them up like 181, 191 which is 2, 10 are in 200 and 300 . +6 in the 400s to get 28like @mhsbandar said
