vicsel Hey! I go to macrob (got in last year) and I think for practice your son can work on:
Maths - learn and revise the entire year 8 maths content (dont go to year 9 u wont need it)
Numerical - find ways to answer questions quickly, do timed practice tests
Verbal - learn suffixes and prefixes for defining words rather than memorising a dictionary (trust me this helps a lot) and work on word problems (like decoding words)
Reading - read lots, try to unpack what you're reading, learn different text types and literary devices
Writing - practice writing both a narrative and persuasive piece under 20 minutes and getting that to the best of your ability
I went to JAC last year, but from my experience it was a bit useless. I think it's best to study efficiently with textbooks and workbooks from places like Excel rather than a tuiton, but that will depend on your son's ability.
To everyone doing the test this year, i would suggest this, and good luck!
