First off, don’t stress too much — you’ve done so much already, and that really matters. The stuff you’ve done outside of school is super impressive: leading your debate team, being in the SRC, working with your MP, doing Model UN — honestly, that’s the kind of experience a lot of scholarship panels love to see. It shows you’re active, confident, and involved in your community.
Even if your grades in some subjects aren’t the best, that doesn’t mean you’re out of the running. Since this is a debate scholarship and not an academic one, they’ll care a lot more about how you speak, lead, and think on your feet — not just numbers on a report. The fact you’re doing an advanced English course already shows you’re pushing yourself.
If you want, you could mention how your stronger subjects (like Japanese and Accounting) show that you work hard in areas you enjoy or connect with. And if you do talk about your weaker subjects, just be honest but show that you’re still trying your best.
Most importantly: don’t give up hope. You clearly care a lot and have put in the work. Be proud of that, and don’t let one part of your report make you feel like it ruins everything — because it doesn’t.
