Hey everyone,

I’m planning to sit the Year 10 scholarship test for [School Name] soon, and I’m trying to figure out how tough it actually is. I know a bit about SEHS tests, but I’m not sure how this one compares.

For anyone who’s taken the test before:

How hard was it compared to SEHS?

Which sections were the most challenging (Maths, English, reasoning)?

Were there any “tricky” question types or surprises you didn’t expect?

Any tips on what to focus on or how to prepare effectively?

I’d really appreciate any insight — it’ll help me plan my prep properly. Thanks so much!

Hubert which school is it? ive done the haileybury one like last year if u want help w/ dat

i think it would be similar to year 8 -> 9 sehs test difficulty, im not sure. haileybury one was pretty lightwork (2 tests tho)

js be good with fundamental skills like abstract reasoning and calculations. for reading comp, js read books and summarise what happened in the text u js read. use active recall and spaced repetition is rly helpful. reasoning will be harder btw

depending on which test type ur doing (aas, acer, or edu), u shuld find resources on it

(praying u didnt finish the test already twin 🙏)

anyways, idrk about wesley year 10 entry, but its rly easy to get a scholarship there. personally i got an 80% from year 5 to 7. js have good ecs and ccs and some good hobbies and interests that align w/ the school values. btw they value sport a lot, so i recc to have some decent sporting achievements

also, edutest should not be too hard. i think thats the format for yr 8 to 9 sehs and 9 to 10 sehs

the testing shouldnt be too bad, js some tests that test ur ability in reading comp etc
for interview, yap a lot on one thing and show a lot of passion. also i think ur supposed to send ur interview material prior to the actual interview for review of a panel (thats what i did for my caulfield grammar interview)
