Hey y’all, so I just started year 12 content and have 14 units at the moment and need to drop one. I was thinking I will drop either physics, biology or legal studies but I actually like them all so it’s a bit hard to come to a decision. BTW I’m from a rural public school so our school isn’t ranked very highly but I would like a high atar like 90+ and I’m not 100% sure what I want to do because it switches but right now I reckon some form of business or medicine but I could change my mind by tomorrow so take that lightly. I’ll try to include some info about each subject below that I do (sorry I’m about to write heaps):
English Advanced - got 82.5% on prelim exam (I think I ranked 2/40ish and did well on other exams. Have to keep.
Math Advanced - didn’t do amazing on prelim, got 51% and ranked 10/22, did okay on other assessments.
Math Extension 1 - got 41% on prelim ranked 2/6, was massive improvement from mid course exam where I got 10% and ranked 6/8.
Science Extension - Just picked it up and am thinking about what project to do and what not.
Physics - on the prelim I got 44% and ranked 4/19 I think I may be 1st or 2nd overall though as I got 90%+ in take home assessments. I like the class but the teacher just hands out worksheets and then doesn’t really teach us. She’s like my fav teacher as a person but she just doesn’t teach and so like 10 people have already dropped and it’s me and my friend left out of the girls I think and she really does not want me to drop because she can’t (she dropped something else) so I don’t know.
Biology - got 61% on prelim exam ranked 3/50ish and am 3rd overall, on the depth study earlier in the year I got 100% though so that was good. I do like the content but I dislike the teacher because she doesn’t really like us to write notes and if we try she’ll tell us not too and sometimes she acts in a bit of an icky manner like she chewed a biscuit for 2 minutes spit it into her hand waited a bit and then put it back in her mouth and swallowed all whilst making us watch and I just can’t look at her the same.
Legal Studies - I got 84% in the prelim and was 2/20ish but for the other assessments I was 1st with in the 90%s so I’m 1st overall. I am interested and naturally good at the content, it’s just sometimes I get a bit bored because a lot of it is us writing notes from the textbook whilst our teacher yaps. Was the one I was thinking of dropping for ages but idk.
Health and Movement Science - I got 85% on the prelim and ranked 1/60ish, on the other two assessments I got 95%+ and ranked 2nd so I’m 2nd overall. My school is pretty good at this subject, most of our band 6’s come from PDHPE so I should be well set. It’s easy enough, a lot of writing.
