Hello,
I'm currently in year 10 and seeking advice for what subjects I should pick next year.
Before I start rambling, this is my current ideal list based on my interests and what I think I would care about:
English Advanced (2 units)
Studies in Catholic Thought (non ATAR, 1 unit)
Dance (2 units, major work)
Visual Arts (2 units, major work)
Music (2 units, major work)
Multimedia (2 units, major work)
Now I know showing this list, people will think I am CRAZY for picking 4 major work subjects. But I want to explain my feelings about these and ask what you would do in my situation.
I picked these subjects because I feel as though these are things I would genuinely enjoy and love to study. I find myself so bored in any kind of science, math, or history classes. It's not that I'm bad at them — I'm generally a smart kid, I understand and pick up topics easily. I just don't enjoy them and I know I would not put the work into any of them, and I would be more likely to do worse in a class like those compared to the ones I have picked currently. I know major works are MAJOR amounts of work. I know I would have to dedicate much of my time to these things and really never slack off in any class. But I feel like doing any other subject, I just wouldn't focus properly and wouldn't enjoy it at all. For a little more context, I have also done a lot of research and have strong reason to believe I have ADHD and autism, probably leading to my stronger feelings about not wanting to pick any other subjects. But if I will genuinely not be able to keep up at all, I want to know so that I can change my pattern of study to accomodate for something I will be more capable of doing. I also train for a high level of gymnastics, currently training 4 afternoons a week and I'm hoping to start coaching an extra 2 days a week. My schedule is pretty packed. My school however, does also have every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning dedicated to 2 hours of free period/study time. Currently I use this time to sleep in (lol) but I would be willing to use the time to actually study and work on these courses.
Do you think it is possible? Should I change subjects? Will I die if i try to do 4 major works????
