Hi, I also sat the SEHS test last year for entry 2026. Personally, practice papers are vital. I had created a list of my learning gaps using website bigbrain.au and wrote them down, I then spent two weeks teaching myself through videos and Cambridge books. Math requires you to answer with accuracy and speed, I ended up spending the last week learning about linear equations and it wasn’t on the test, however not sure about this year. Reading comprehension is pretty easy in my opinion, sometimes requiring to think a certain way, workbooks that make you answer questions from a passage can help you pinpoint information imperative to answer the question. Verbal Reasoning I don’t remember much but a lot of worded problems heh. Quantitive Reasoning is I would say the most difficult since majority of the students who sat the exam had to guess the last 15-10 ish questions due to the time. It’s basically an IQ test and you should manage your time by bringing an analog watch, there’s not much to say about this one since it’s unpredictable. The writing prompt for narrative 2025 was ‘follow me’ which was a terrible one, overall I’d just covert the stimulus into something symbolic. To help you, reading carried me a lot and practice writing prompts generated by chatGPT helped, and then I’d make it mark it for feedback. Persuasive was a little more difficult, can’t remember the exact prompt but it was something about the hierarchy of formal president obama, queen elizabeth II and other historic figures. Again, I’d just use ChatGPT to get me. During persuasive make sure to use ‘TEEL’ (Topic sentence, Evidence, Explanation, Linking sentence). A minimum of 6 month hard core studying would help you pass. Tutorings are also beneficial, my friend who had gotten into Nossal had 4 superiors and she went to three seperate tutorings, Dr U, James Ann College T.T.8 and Lynn’s Learning assisted her.
