You want to get in EBS too??? Nice! I thought I was the only one.
The acceptance rate may vary, but it is quite similar to selective entry, where the chance of getting in are a bit better, from 30-40% for the interview stage, where its a further 50% chance to pass that. (about 40-50 people get in every year btw)
The test is ran using EduTest, like JMSS. There are a few key differences though.
The exam goes like this (subject to change, and idk the correct order)
Tests - In person for the first time EVER
- Science reasoning (30q in 30min)
- Verbal reasoning (60q in 30min
- Reading comprehension (50q in 30min)
- Numerical reasoning (60q in 30min)
There is also a writing task during the interview stage, about 2 weeks after the email is sent regarding whether you passed and moved to the interview stage.
Questions are like NAPLAN, (5 answer multiple choice) but mostly use the year 10 full curriculum so they are quite harder.
If you need to prepare, you probably have to grind practice tests and make sure you notice where and how you get a question wrong so you can improve next time, also look at guides too like Jayce's EBS guides to see what type of topics you have to practice.
There is less than 2 months left as the test is on May 30th, so you should practice as much as you can
Good luck and hope you secure a spot!
