Introduction:
Albert Speer was born into an upper middle class German family in 1905. Speer was a gifted student and in 1923 he began his studies of architecture at the Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, later transferring to the Institute in Munich in 1924. Speer completed his studies and in 1927 he was a qualified architect. A year later Speer was married to Margaret Webber and was working under Professor Tessenow as his assistant.
