Hi Justaperson! I'm in y12 this year - and am doing spec, english, chem, physics; Last year I did bio & methods.
Hey, that's almost identical to ur subjects - what are the chances! For me, what really helped was being able to accelerate a subject (in my case two). Only having 4 subjects in y12 is great 😀!
For me - Physics is my easiest subject.... and Spec definitely the hardest. (It takes up a lot of ur time)
Methods last year was intensive as well... and my main bits of advice for that are:
- Do exam questions throughout the year
- Do the VCAA exams first (maybe save one or two for towards the end). I got stuck doing company exams, and didn't finish all the official ones.
- Aim to finish the course early (at very latests 2 weeks out of t3 holidays)
Make sure not to fall asleep in y11 - but don't stress too hard! Also - If you want to do undergrad med - u will need to prepare for the UCAT. I neglected it for way too long lol. I would recommend staring serious practice from the start of y12 - maybe t1 holidays at the latest (Its really hard to get a good mark). If ur in the regions (like me) u don't have to get as high a mark - but it can't hurt familiarising urself with the questions during y11. (They have lots of free online ones).
Also for spesh. Try and build a good relationship with ur teacher/class mates. We have 3 in our class - and we started this tradition where we would bring in food each double! It's one of the funnest classes I've had. Who knows, you might get to the stage where u can bring a popcorn machine into school! (wink wink)
Ummm.... Idk what else. Just work hard - try and get ahead in VCE - and yeah,
Good luck! 😄
