Hi,
I am a year 11 student going into year 12 next year.
My current subjects are spec maths, methods, english, physics (3/4), chemistry and engineering studies (vet).

I don't want to continue with my vet next year, and I am thinking of either doing further maths or business management.
Any suggestions guys?

Manny Hey Manny! Both of those subjects sound like solid options, but they'd really depend on a few things:

    • If you take a look at the respective study designs, which seems more interesting/appealing to you?
    • Given you're already studying Methods and Specialist, would you be looking for a third subject (note that not all three can count in your "top four" subjects), or something a bit different?
    • What are you hoping to do after Year 12?

Joseph41 I am looking to do engineering after school. The thing is that I find both subjects pretty interesting, but due to my other subjects I am worried that I will be neglecting my sixth subject. Even now I struggle at times to keep up with everything.

both subjects probably have similar amount of usefulness towards engineering

Manny Both seem like good options, then!

I guess if I were in your situation - which I'm not, so take this all with a big ol' grain of salt - my decision would then come down to what I'd find easier to manage in amongst my other subjects. Going by your other subjects, perhaps that's Further? But then Business has a couple of potential advantages, too:

        • Means you're not confined by only two of Further/Methods/Specialist being able to count in your top four
        • Gives you a subject that is a bit different - so maybe a bit of a break from maths - if that's what you're looking for
