Architecture course Swinburne, looking for advice.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I'm looking at doing the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at Swinburne uni next year, and if i fail to meet the ATAR level of 80 (very likely) I'll do an Advanced Diploma of Building Design which allows me to pathway into the Bachelor of Design. Just wondering if this is a realistic idea for how uni will go, and any tips from people who may have done this course or something similar. thanks.

I was a little confused by your question. Could you please elaborate on what you meant?

I’d have a look at other institutes as well as the Adv Dip at Swinburne. Architecture is one of those courses that doesn’t always rely on ATAR, but other criteria like additional selection tasks, interviews, portfolios and so forth. Beware: A lot of these selection tasks and occasionally the interview are due just before VCE exams. (This at least was true back when I applied for Monash Architecture in 2014.)

If my memory serves me correctly, RMIT’s architecture course doesn’t have an ATAR requirement, just all the other things and a minimum English SS requirements, so that might be another option for you.
