AHHH year 11's gonna be crazy. So my school has a english recommendation, and if you want to go against it, you have to sign some form or something to show that you're not crazy. I got mainstream, and lit- I really wanted to do eng lang, I've really thought that eng lang would be THE subject. I've been doing lit-esque subjects since year 8, and lit in Vce sounds interesting If i had to choose from my recommendations, I would do lit- sure, it sounds fun, chill and honestly I probably would do best in it, but I feel dejected.
I used to do so good in english, but due to mental health reasons this year my essay writing skills have dropped severely, and my book worm self has deflated. I'm a bit nervous for Vce, because I've chose to do both lit and eng lang as 1/2s (plus 1 or 2 humanities subjects).
If I'm above average in english, should'nt i choose to do one that I like, because I'll do good in any english? I've looked at past exams and stuff; I think I'll do decent in any. Really, my priority is surviving english, I know that it won't be my best, Im hoping for a 35. So, my questions is- am I justified in wanting to do eng lang despite being potentially better at lit?
