  • Literature or English!!! HUGE DILEMMA!

ohh, okay. if you've done any mocks/diagnostics, what was your lowest score? x

I have not started doing any mocks on medify like I planned once I got back to school. Gotta do that soon 😭

Guys! Have you got your predicted yet? How did u go compared to how you thought you would?

yeh I got mine like 2 weeks ago.

I got 0.05 higher than I did in sem 1 which I’m pretty stoked about considering the scaling wasn’t that kind to me this time

Plus I messed up pretty much all my exams so I potentially was looking at a 98+ but I’ll be happy with a 97.45

omg guysss
for anyone looking to do medicine, there's a new entry requirement called the CASper test that you must sit to get into undergrad or postgrad med!!

I thought it was only Curtin that required it in WA?

Went to the open day for both universities. Casper wasn’t mentioned at the UWA med info session

yeahh, crossing my fingers that i could just do well on it without a whole lot of prep

Hey guys hoping for some advice here.

So basically I fell apart towards the end of the term and my methods average dropped from 94% to 74% (stupid math investigations).

I am confident that I can score 98% in both my final test AND the exam for the semester which should put my average back up to 85%.

My question is, what approximate % would I have to achieve in order to avoid scaling, that is, I would like to keep my methods mark without it being scaled down. I know ranking plays some factor into this but honestly have not seen it in effect yet (I got scaled down the same as rank 1 last year)

Also please consider that the absolute maximum grade I can get for semester 1 in methods is an 86 so I will be major depresso if the average I need to get to avoid scaling is higher than this

my input is probably going to be of no help because i don't do methods anymore, but why does it get scaled down? i thought it was considered a complex subject, so it gets scaled up?

      Thats so good tho!
Yeah but unfortunately to avoid scaling we gotta get above 93 🙁
obviously its not a dead set 93 but thats what I heard from last year, anything below gets scaled down by like 13!

term 2 boutta start with these averages 😭😭😭

spec - 73, meth - 74, chem - 71, lit - 89 (gonna go down further cos our teacher left and got replaced with HOLA), physics - 66

somehow gonna have to get a 25% combined increase for my top 4 subjects to get a raw aggregate 330 that will maybe scale to 99+???
        🥲🥲

          Arcadia

This is me just guessing cos last year for both my predictors I got a raw aggregate that equated to around 95+ which translated to 97+ after scaling and all that. School uses TISC ATAR calculator for predictors so based on 2022 data…

          317 —> 97.00

          329.6 —> 98.00

          348.9 —> 99.00

            Arcadia How does WACE work?

Like I know VCE uses your raw scores to derive a study score out of 50 and then adds up your study scores to get your aggregate.

Does WACE add up your raw scores out of 100 to get the aggregate?
