Excellent choice as CHM1011 is extremely helpful for the GAMSAT which was the original reason I chose it. It’s a unit that might inspire you so much that you may end up like me (dropping biomed and moving to BSc with chem major). I did this unit a couple of years ago and I’ll link you to the original review I wrote: https://archive.atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=43048.msg1148976#msg1148976
It’s a repeat of U3 VCE chem, but it goes more in detail for rates (referred to kinetics), quantum mechanics (including molecular orbital theory), molecular geometry (VSEPR theory/hybridisation/valence bond theory) and thermochem/thermodynamics compared to year 12. Not difficult at all if you keep up to date with lectures and do ALL optional tutorial worksheets. The only hit or miss would be the labs, if you don’t have good lab report writing skills in VCE, you might not do very well initially on the labs, but you’ll definitely improve by the end of the unit. I reckon CHM1011 will be an easy 85 HD if you got at least 35 raw since the final exam is scaled up significantly in my experience. For comparison, I got 96 HD in it with 40 raw in VCE chem, but I’m aware of mates with 43-47 raw study scores pulling 97-98 HD as well.
