Hey guys! I'm Chaewon Lee, and I achieved a raw score of 49 in English in 2022, a raw score of 50 in the written component of the GAT, and an ATAR of 99.35 overall. (Despite qualifying for EAL, I chose to continue with English and I don't regret it at all!)
Having worked as a freelance writer out of school over the course of the past three years, I know exactly how to make your English essays go that extra mile and impress the VCE English markers.
Over the next couple of weeks I'm running a short series of crash courses on how exactly to ace your creative responses, which I believe will be many of your first SACs.
These sessions will be running in a set of three lessons on Zoom, in groups of two or three for $25 an hour. If you're crafting a response for a particular text please gather other students from the same school in order to maximize efficiency and cohesiveness!
Lesson 1 (1 hour) - Detailed analysis of what exactly constitutes a good Creative Writing essay, discussion of themes and characters, as well as plot planning/breakdown
Lesson 2 (1 hour) - Personal one on one feedback on your Creative Writing essay. With the appropriate consent from all three of the students, I'll go through each of your drafts and suggest areas of improvement... or brainstorm draft ideas/ develop your draft if you're not quite at the stage where you've finished your drafts yet!
Lesson 3 (1 hour) - Continued one on one feedback on your Creative Writing essay.
I'm also offering my editing services for $13/essay : this is for when you have an essay or short story that you want in depth, detailed feedback for.
What's included?
- A summary of your weak points/ what you did well (filling up at least one side of an A4 page)
- A mark out of ten
- Suggestions on areas of improvement
- A short Zoom conference (around 10 minutes) for a discussion of your essay/ any things you may be able to do better
Apart from these services, I also offer general one-on-one tutoring for $50 an hour. I studied the 7 Stages of Grieving/ the Longest Memory, but I am always able to learn new texts for no additional cost.
