Hi,

I am in my final year of HSC doing the IB program. I am expecting (aiming/hoping) to get a 40/45 which according to last years conversion is equivalent to around a 97.7-97.9 atar. I hope to apply for the Monash Law/comm degree however the 2023 entrance results indicate that the lowest accept atar was a 97 with a median atar of 99. Does this mean that most atars within this range would be accepted? or would you have to have solid co-corriculars to be accepted with a 97-98? Does anyone have knowledge/experience on what would be a relatively safe atar within this range for acceptance? Thank you.

HenryR Co-curriculars are not considered for this course. I expect that all students with an ATAR above the lowest selection rank who preferenced this degree received an offer.

I am currently in my 3rd year of Law/Commerce at Monash, having graduated with an ATAR of 84 and transferring into the course last year, from my perspective you would make it in with a 97.9. Ultimately it depends on how many people apply to the course, as the first round usually fills up with those who have the higher atars and go from there.
Honestly though you should be fine, if not, just do the same degree at another university and transfer into monash from there, they have applications open between 1st-2nd years i'm pretty sure, mid-year and end of year.
      Good luck with it
