Hey guys,
I got the interview call for Year 10 Entry into SCHS, and wondering what they are looking for in people like us?

I am pretty sure that even for year 10 it is group interviews.

Basically they look at if u can work in a team, voice your opinion, agree/disagree with others in a well-articulated way and be confident. I think its more about how you say things rather than what you say.
They also do like a puzzle, they pay attention to how much you contribute, body language and just general stuff like that.
Last part is a one-on-one interview they'll ask you questions and just be yourself. Answer to the best of your possibility and expand on your answers if you can. (eg. Q: What are some of your qualities? (this is just an example question), A: I am a respectful individual, I believe...etc etc)

I think thats pretty much it.

However itsAme um, do you remmeber any questions that you were asked in the one on one interview last year and this year? It would help me alot.....pls??

like did they ask anything about their values, tell me smthn about urself, your hobbies, interests, co-curricular, strengths and weaknesses. Anything at all. Like I know there were 5 questions asked but like it would really help if you could like let me know what i need to prepare myself for.

I am not too sure about last year (Year 10 interviews) as I did not get an offer.

However I think they would ask you stuff like:

1) What can you do for the school? What can the school do for you?
2) Tell us one time you have displayed this value? (they give you a value such as empathy, respect etc)
3) What challenges will you face moving schools?
4) Tell us about a time when.....

these questions are similar to what the year 11 interview had.

Before you actually go in for your one-on-one interview they give u a sheet to look at the interview questions and you have time to think, its not on the spot (at least that is how it was for us).

itsAme hey can you pls tell what kind of puzzles will be given?

It will either be related to maths or some kind of word puzzles

Oh so for that question where u stated about the values, is it gonna be the core values of SCHS?
And did they ask stuff like why do you want to leave your current school.
bc some of my friends told me that there were like 5 questions.
and they were all about what u said but im not too sure about the last one

They dont ask stuff about why you want to leave ur school.

They ask about ur personal values/attributes and how u display them.

zzz how does this wait list work and how long it’s valid for? Will you eventually get an offer?

zzz Congratulations! You waited just two weeks to get your offer for year 10 entry. I wonder why there are vacancies in Year 10. Are students leaving for another school?

TTV Are you still on the waiting list or have you received an offer? How long will you be on the waiting list, any idea/ did they tell you?

Is anyone still on the waiting list for yr10|yr11? How long will this waiting list be maintained?

Grace AI I think with waiting lists, (I was on one last year for SCHS but this year I got in), it lasts I think the whole year for the year ur applied for.
Like for next year, if you applied for year 11, if an year 11 student from the school that you got wait-listed to leaves, the person on the top of the wait list will get in.

It should be for that whole year if I'm not wrong.
