Hi, I am a year 9 selecting subjects for next year and aim to accelerate into two VCE subjects in order to reduce my workload in year 12- I wish to study medicine and work in psychiatry so I am aiming for an atar of 99+. The first subject I am accelerating in is psychology, as I find it the most fun and a career in psychology would be satisfactory should I be unable to pursue medicine. The second subject is where I am struggling. I have been considering accelerating in biology but am unsure of the difficulty it poses and wether it’s something people typically accelerate in. It’s not one of my favourite subjects, but I can deal with it for the knowledge it provides in contribution towards my goals (medicine/psych). I am also considering just not doing biology and rather accelerating in economics as that I find quite interesting, though I am unsure if to neglect biology would be to sabotage my understanding in psychology and eventually medicine. I apologise for such a long slab of text but this is a very complex time for me and any and all advice is appreciated!

I would say don't do bio and do economics for your second and psych should be fine. I mean biology isn't even a pre requisite for medicine which is what I'm trying to get in too unless it is wherever you are but idk.

Yeah just do what you find interesting and like rather than forcing yourself
