Hi,
Curious to how everyone else has gone with this subject?
Any tips on how to prepare for this exam?
Our textbook is Nelson food solutions, apart from the VCE sample questions does anyone know of any good resources for this subject?
New study design Food Studies
I have gotten A+ (90%), A+(93%), A+(100%) for my first three sacs, am yet to receive results of the fourth and final sac.
Is it possible to get a 50 study score?
Do you need 100% on all sacs for a 50 in food studies?
Hello, fellow year 12 here
This study design definitely has been difficult in some aspects. I also just personally dislike how the subject is taught by my teacher. I uploaded/waiting for some of my resources to be uploaded on the Food studies atar notes website.
They include whole unit notes and a list of practice questions (when they eventually get approved). I've struggled to find good resources so I have made majority of my own for the subject.
The main tip I keep hearing from my teachers is practice timed responses. Because our exam expects us to do like 1.5 marks a minute it is crucial to be able to plan and write quickly (especially for the extended response).
First off amazing scores, go you!
Second of all based on study score calculators (both on places such as atar notes and deakin) it is very very difficult to get a 50 in food studies, its basically a 99% and above average required. However very high scores like you currently have will probably see a high 40s study score, around 47-49. Still a very impressive score.
Good luck with the rest of the year, and don't be so hard on yourself if you don't get the 50

Yeah food is my last exam, and I would normally sacrifice it to make sure I do well in my other subjects, but for the exam I'll definitely have to put alot of effort in.
The 10 mark question is definitely going to be fun to write out
I'm a bit concerned how my cohorts performance in the exam might affect me? As most of my class never study so I hope my ranking will keep me safe
I don't need a 50, I'm probably never going to have to use this subject, but like it would be nice to get high 40s.
I've accepted it's very unlikely I'll get a 50 as some students out there will be getting straight 100% on every sac, and that's not the case for me.
I've uploaded the two most recent notes for food studies on atarnotes, just trying to help some others and get a bit of an idea of how they are going and how I'm going.
Here are the notes is anyone is interested:

Thanks for the tip, I also dislike how my teacher has taught this subject, but not much we can do there I suppose.
I'll have a look at your notes once they upload
I'm doing this subject currently as a year eleven so i definitely don't have a lot of experience or knowledge on studying for exams but I've found theres a few food studies 3/4 sets up on quizlet which are pretty good for some revision if it helps, blooket also has one set which can be a fun simple way to study if competitve game style studying could be a helpful tool.
