taylorswift13 Hey everyone, Since the study design is so new I am struggling with structuring the part a component of the exam. Does anyone have any tips or advice they would be willing to share? Would be greatly appreciated!
TSE-Tuition VCAA recently released some advice for the exam so I'll leave some thoughts here: the first question is worth about 1 third of the Section A marks, while the second question is worth about 2 thirds, so I would adjust the length of your response to reflect the mark scheme question 1 is really about the significance of the passage and how it links to the rest of the text, while question 2 is really about the concept represented in the passage, so I suggest you make sure the two responses discuss these two very different things - give you should know your text very well, I think you should practice writing about every 'significant' passage in the text as well as writing about the main concepts of your text! VCAA explicitly states that it doesn't need to be an essay format, so I would forgo the introduction and other formalities and just get straight into the nitty gritty VCAA does , however, explicitly state that responses should include sentences that are 'logically...developed' and to that they should be 'connected...cohesively in structured paragraphs'. So my advice here is to work through your past writing and see if you can enhance the connectedness of your sentences and paragraphs, and improve the logical flow of your ideas too Hope that helps!
