this is probably a really easy question but its confusing me so much and google nor my teacher gives me a proper and reliable explanation

"A chocolate bar weighed 250 g. If its dimensions were increased by a factor of 4, how much would it weigh?
a) 1000g
b) 2000g
c) 3000g
d) 4000g
e) 16 000g"

the answer is d) 4000g but im confused as to how this was achieved

correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking that both the length and width of the bar need to multiplied by 4. This would give 250 x 4, then x4 again, that is 250 x 4= 1000 then x4 again = 4000. or, 250 x 16 = 4000.
