Is the content the same difficulty at the both unis for say biomed or commerce. Also does how the cohort do effect your scores like in vce? Bcs Melb has a higher entry score will the competition be much higher at Melb and hence the examinations are harder than Monash?
How do the fees compare at each? Is one higher/lower than the other?
Unimelb Monash difficulty and fees
Deeksha Also does how the cohort do effect your scores like in vce?
Depends on the unit. I had exams at Monash that scaled because the whole cohort always does badly. I’ve heard of UoM commerce units that apparently grade based on a bell curve, like VCE, but that is hearsay.
Deeksha Bcs Melb has a higher entry score will the competition be much higher at Melb and hence the examinations are harder than Monash?
No idea. I only studied at Monash, but they are said to be roughly on par with each other.
Deeksha How do the fees compare at each? Is one higher/lower than the other?
Fees depend more on the area you study in and not where you study. Your fees studying science at Deakin (just as an example) would be equal to studying science at Monash.
Late reply (just finished exams), but Unimelb's content is harder than ours at Monash. For example, their 2nd year chem core units are harder than 3rd year phys chem here, which is the hardest unit in the major. I saw their 1st year biomed units and they teach you stuff we only learned in 2nd year biomed. Monash has a better lab program though
In terms of fees, both are exactly the same in terms of Student Contribution Amount.
Monash or Melbourne:
- Biomed = $12,720
- Commerce = $16,323
