I've been lucky enough to make it through first round of a scholarship I applied for (yay!) but the next round is a video interview and i was wondering if anyone had any tips for the sort of questions we might be asked, how to prepare or just any general advice?
I've never even been interviewed for a job before (both of my past jobs were just trial shifts and then i was hired) so I'd be grateful for any advice.
Thanks
Interviews for scholarships
- Edited
I’ll be honest and say I’m not good with video interviews (and not done one for scholarships before honestly, but have done some for jobs/ Uni grad industry programs), but here’s a few pointers:
- have the standard interview answers prepared, except tailored to a scholarship. Check up some interview questions and have very brief answers ready. You often only have a short timeframe to respond (like 1-2mins) and you don’t want to come unprepared!
- have a good internet connection! The worst is when it buffers mid-recording and then time’s up when it’s done buffering.
- practise looking into the camera as if it’s a human interviewer/ practise makes perfect. They usually have a practise recording for you to test everything before the real deal. Use it wisely.
AngelWings thankyou so much!
If anyone has done any scholarship related interviews would you be able to give me some examples of standard interview questions that might be asked?
