Hey everyone,
As you may have noticed, we've recently updated the atarnotes.com main site to include a bunch of new features. You can read the list of changes here but I'll also explain them briefly below (with some added context for Discussions!)
- FREE FLASHCARDS! I'm especially excited for these! Basically you can create and share flashcard decks for any subject. It's a fun way to study and consolidate your resources for any subject that requires memorisation. For now, I and the in-house ATAR Notes team have done our best to cover a bunch of popular subjects, but I'm really keen to see which user-submitted ones become popular over time. This also comes with a smooth flashcard viewing/testing interface that we also use for our official flashcards on ATAR Notes+.
- Community leaderboard: this may be familiar if you're an OG Forum user! Back by popular demand is a means for you to track your progress in contributing to the community (and maybe get a tiny bit competitive about it 😝). For now, this doesn't factor in your posts in this Discussions section, but our plan is to better integrate Discussions with the rest of the site soon, at which time your involvement in Discussions will be factored into the leaderboard.
- Tutor listings: another popular feature from the old site (although we're talking like, 2015, so y'all probably didn't use this unless you were on atarnotes in grade 3). For students who've completed Year 12, this is a place where you can freely post tutoring ads and reach prospective students. For current students, this is where you can browse tutors using a range of criteria and even view relevant resources they've uploaded. (I'm expecting this will be pretty quiet for the next few months until the end of the year when tutors look for new students, but nevertheless you're very welcome to post here if you have any availabilities!)
- Community profiles and DMs: while we wait for Discussions to be ported over, we've introduced a few new features on the main site to allow for profile customisation and messaging between users. These are all still subject to the same community rules and terms of use. If you ever have any issues, you can always reach out to support@atarnotes.com or any of the options on our contact page.
It'd be great to get your feedback - what do you think of the new features, or what would you like to see in future!
Also, if you come across any bugs or something doesn't look right, please let me know and I can pass it on to our team 😊
Happy studying! 🎓️
