Selective entry EXAM (victoria)

MMHS parabolas will be on the exam. At least 3-4 in the maths like in the JAC mock tests

MauryanBroski nah I asked someone who did the test last year and my tutor and the guy who did the test got into nossal and said there were no parabolas nor cubic expressions

my friend who took the test last year said to me there was 2-3 parabolas

i have practiced for it incase as in the prac papers i do it comes up. its better to be safe than sorry

to everyone now stressing about starting to learn parabolas in more depth there is really no point because they may/may not be on test

MMHS ye true also if u want maybe u can speed run smth like monic equations and factorising them but just a maybe

are parabolas really that hard? we did them at school for a couple of weeks as it was on the year 9 curriculum and I am in SEAL - and parabolas was quite easy so if u r studying about it, don't stress.

yeah but leaving it this late is not optimal, there is more to it than just finding the x and y intercepts

factorise 6x² - 5x - 4

(3x-4)(2x+1)

and to solve it u do 3x x 2x = 6x² then 1 multiply -4 =-4
