Hi,
I was wondering if it is allowed to use E scientific notation (3E8 instead of 3x108) on VCE exams, specifically Physics and Chemistry, as it is much quicker and easier to use.
Thanks!

I dont think using the scientific notation, E is allowed, I'll have to ask tomorrow

I think it would be best to use x10x format for simplicity and to avoid any extra trouble

Hello,
When I was a year 12 student; I was told to stick with the x10x format. Personally, from reading multiple VCE physics and chemistry answer reports, none of the examinators have ever used nor endorsed the usage of "E" exponential notation.
