Hey guys, as you guys probably know im cshar and have recently received an interview offer for JMSS. I'm trying to reach out to current year 10s/ anyone who have passed the John Monash Entrance Exam and interviews to assist us ( the current yr 9s ) in areas such as formatting our CVs and selecting good achievemnts/ answering some questions that we might have. Thank you so much!
Help with CV and Interviews for JMSS
Firstly for our CV, do we have to make it a page or can it be more than one. Also I've seen somewhere that apparently JMSS doesn't like extra information other than the actual requiremnts in the email, so should I include hobbies and an about me section in my CV or just leave it to the minimum?
Secondly for the current photograph, does it have to be a full length professional photo, or can it be like a medium close up with a random background or smth cuz I barely have any photos of myself
Thirdly, for certificates and awards, are we allowed to list more than five in the actual CV, then bring the evidence for any five within them. In the email it says 5 items/photographs MAX. And do certificates need to be photographed?
I have a friend who went to JMSS so I'm able to say this to you.
ッUSAッ Yep there you go:
Please bring a copy (not originals) of the following documents to the interview:
The applicants 2023 end of year and 2024 mid-year reports, if they are available. If the 2024 mid-year report is not available at the time of interview, a copy must be sent to JMSS as soon as practicable after the interview via email.
The applicant’s Curriculum Vitae which should include the following:
● A brief resume about the student; include a current photograph, current school, date of birth and if not born in Australia the year of arrival & their country of birth.
● A list of extracurricular activities including sporting teams played for, musical instruments played and any community involvements in organisations outside of school.
● Any leadership roles in secondary school to date
● Copies of certificates or awards you feel might be of interest to the panel (any medals/trophies should be photographed) maximum of FIVE items or images
