Year 12 subject selection has crept up on me so I only have a few days to figure all this out ðŸ˜
Hey, I'm 16 years old in year 11 (up one year more than usual) and I'm wondering what subjects I should choose for year 12 in 2025. I currently partake in:
- English
- Legal Studies
- General Maths
- Environmental Science
- Applied Computing
- Business Management
I definitely want to take a mathematical subject, but I'm not sure if anything other than further would be too difficult / workload-intensive. I've only done general before, and my situation is unique as I'm a year younger than usual and have medical issues (severe scoliosis) that could possibly cause problems with my study for next year.
To be honest, I'm not very disciplined when it comes to study, no matter how much I try. I get distracted so easily and blank so often, despite my best efforts to stay on track and crack down. I'm probably looking to consider a career somewhere in ICT, software engineering or similar.
Some other things to note:
- No experience in science, never been able to get into classes in previous years
- Missed a lot of content in year 9, practically all year (due to medical)
- Despite all this, still a year level above my age.
I'm ready for a reality check so please be honest and tell me, even if you think I should drop back a year which I've slightly considered. Thank you
