ive been trying to write a narrative on some topic for the past 30 minutes and i keep restarting because im not sure how to continue the story. is there anything i can do to fix this and get my imagination onto the paper, and what kind of things did u guys do in the exam and in preparation for the exam to write good narratives

mhsbandar you will need to quickly think of a plot, beginning and a resolution for your story, probably the biggest parts in the narrative. Beginning will have introductions, rising action and so on, plot is just basically the bad thing that happens, the impediment, then the resolution is where everything is fixed. You must keep practicing because i had written a lot of narratives and persuasive pieces so i got quite good at them, and usually would come up with an idea for the story within a minute or so, since i needed most of the time for writing. I wold say 5 mins max for planning time, then you have to start writing because anything less than 15 mins is just wont suffice.

MMHS thanks for the advice, and I just wanted to ask realistically should I do both written and image prompts to prepare or will either one suffice

mhsbandar do both, you never know what will come up, make sure you do practice getting confident with your timings and structure, once you are, set a 40 min timer to do both creative and persuasive

you need to cut down time down by 13 mins

also, its a good scene, but i find it hard to grasp the idea of why you are trying to find the amethyst, what is the backstory? 9/10 times you will need to write a full story and not just a scene.

also for 30 mins i would like to think you would be able to write much more than that

just a general thing its not really important but the persuasive and narrative are usually linked together for example this year our persuasive was something along the lines of "are streaming media services better than going to the cinemas?" and our narrative was a shoulder photo of some one in the cinemas looking at the screen and we had to create a story of that

mhsbandar while only image prompts have come up in these past years, doing both gives you more ideas to work with which is crucial when you need to write one in 15-20mins

        8 days later

@MMHS its been along time but I need some advice where to start, as i just finished my sylllabus 2024 examns and everything and now im locking in at JAC but, what did u do to go from a 30% to a 95% . Like what technqiues and let me follow the steps as it is only 8 months away😱😱😱😱
