Hi! Over the summer holidays I will once again be offering my highly successful 6-week English headstart program for students heading into Year 12. This masterclass course will cover the entire English study design and allow me to transfer to you all my high-yield secrets, tips and advice about English before the school year begins. I have deliberately designed the program to be general instead of specific to any text, thereby making it suitable and accessible to all Year 12 students looking to master English regardless of the texts that they are studying. It is particularly suited to high-achieving students who are looking to benefit from specialised exam advice.
About me:

- raw 50 study score + Premier's Award + perfect 60/60 exam score in English

Tuyen is an excellent tutor and I would definitely recommend her summer program! Although we did different texts (one of which she studied up on for the sessions together!), she gave me really good insights into the whole course (including SAC-specific and exam info), as well as helping me improve my essay writing style early on (going through a practice ALA essay in detail together). All her lessons were well organised and clearly took lots of time and effort to prepare. She is a really nice and supportive individual, and her lessons were very engaging! Describing both course content itself as well as her own personal experience as both a tutor and during year 12 made the sessions even more enjoyable, and the resources she has are amazing. She was always happy to go overtime and answer any questions about English, year 12 or unrelated topics like medicine, and shows a genuine care and passion for helping her students 🙂
Firstly, I just want to say Tuyen is the most awesome tutor ever!! Only after a couple of weeks of tutoring I saw her feedback tremendously grow and develop my writing. Not only are her text responses and essays phenomenal, she also gave me such a great insight on year 12. Tuyen was the first tutor I ever had, and I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better first experience. She was so organised - the first lesson she went through my goals, previous experience, feelings about English despite it only being a six week program - and cheerful every lesson, and we genuinely had a laugh and good little chat each time. I actually ended up looking forward to them and Tuyen was so engaging. Tutoring to me is so much more than just the credentials (study scores, ATAR) and Tuyen has both this and a genuinely kind personality 🙂
Tuyen is an amazing English tutor as she is amiable, knowledgeable and organised. She always begins the lesson with a friendly greeting and a smile on her face, making her students feel comfortable and always makes the lesson feel like a safe sharing space, which enhances the productivity of the lesson. She knows the VCE English course inside out and provides various unique tips and techniques for every part of the course helped distinguish her essays from the homogeneity of all the other English students, which is crucial in ensuring high scores. She also encourages her students to ask questions throughout class in order to make sure there is nothing that they do not understand, and she is able to answer clearly answer these questions with insightful explanations. She comes into class with a clear plan of what she wants to cover in that class to maximise efficiency, while still allowing flexibility to tailor to the student's needs if necessary. Tuyen is an amazing English tutor. She is incredible knowledgeable in the VCE English study design and is therefore teaching all the little tips and tricks that regular English teachers never talk about, but are essential to scoring highly (and pleasing the VCAA gods).
