iza you get 40 minutes to write 2 writing pieces. It is your choice how much time you allocate for each piece, but the test people give you a warning halfway during the 40 mins (20 mins). It is non-stop writing for the 40 minutes and you do not get a break in between which is what makes the writing section extremely difficult
