Hey! I'm k and I'm in year 12 studying Units 3 & 4 Lit in addition to English 3 & 4, bc my school made it mandatory for us to do English if we picked Lit for some reason (i don't dislike english but enjoy the freedom of Lit a lot more; less/no structure, no set interpretation, yay!)
Anyways, at my school our texts for Lit this year are 'Alias Grace' (novel - adaptations and transformations AOS), 'Smart Ovens For Lonely People' (short story anthology), 'Uncle Vanya' (play), and 'Throat' (poetry collection/anthology).
And I was just wondering if for those who are also studying these texts this year, or did in previous years might want to discuss the texts. Not just the ones I am studying but any for Lit. And I thought I'd make this a space for that. (I will make a separate one for Units 3 & 4 English as well). So to clarify this is for Literature only!!
For context, my Lit class is very quite, and even though we have a small group it can still be hard to have lots of discussions. I really like to talk and discuss the texts we're studying, but sadly in class it's kind of hard bc I want to hear the others' interpretations as well, but i get that lots of people don't feel comfortable sharing.
Maybe this could be a space where we can all share our thoughts, and interpretations? No judgement of anyone's thoughts ofc!, i personally don't think there are wrong answers in Lit, based on what my teacher and other students have said, as long as there's evidence in the text to support the interpretation
