SEHS year 10 entry for 2026
Dosanjh (NHS) yeah in hk a lot of parents beat their kids when they’re disobedient or can’t understand a certain topic in school so students are REALLY pressured to do well. also, having tutors for every subject is common in hk and since these tutors often end at 7-8pm and each tutor also has additional homework for them, it’s really difficult to balance school and tutor and in my case, sehs. almost every family has a kid who plays piano/violin and they don’t actually have interest in the instrument but they’re forced to play it, adding to their pressure. lots of young kids have already achieved abrsm level 8 or above in piano and it’s extremely common in hk so no one really bats an eye but when you think about it that’s such a huge achievement at age 6 or 7. mb for going on a rant sorry this has nothing to do with sehs
a Yeah ik same in India but if you don't get first you get the chappal and belt.
Dosanjh (NHS) YEAH exactly, ma dad got beaten up with a frying pan and a stick multiple times when he was yoiung.
Dosanjh (NHS) ikr
MHS successful candidate frying pan is crazy bro
a yeah ikr
MHS successful candidate Are u from India?
guys not to put you off of going for the exam, but in reality, MHS is not the wonder school you might have dreamt of. There are kids who have wasted talent and done some things i can't say on here. Teachers don't really go up to you and ask if you are finding stuff difficult or easy, they just leave you too it so you basically have to learn subjects on your own. There is a heavy reliance on building your intrapersonal self, so if all you do if study then you will probably struggle at MHS. Not everyone looks extremely focused and academically inclined, reading books on quantum physics or whatever, but yea this is just a disclaimer. Don't get me wrong, its a great school, great opportunities, some great people, but it probably isn't how you may have dreamt it.
Dosanjh (NHS) In year 7 and starting of year 8 i had extra curriculars like 6/7 days of the week and even then i still wasn't studying to my potential. If you know how to time manage and don't procrastinate many things are possible

@Dosanjh (NHS) Also study when you feel like whether you be morning person or not. During times near the test I could study at 1am without feeling sleepy and get up in the morning for school.
MMHS no school is perfect, there are kids in any school who do wrong things
MMHS Ik thats why I wanted to put Nossal first pref but many of my dads family friends who are in MHS said it's mid and it's a huge nerf from what you think it is
Btw My dad is making me place MHS first pref
Dosanjh (NHS) what r they referring as mid, nossal or mhs
