    heyyyy Arcadia here

So unfortunately I did not get into medicine last year and I chose to take a gap year to retry one more time.

It's been pretty chill so far and I've just finished with UCAT and the CASPER test. I'm also redoing WACE exams this year too to hopefully raise to 99+ for Curtin as I don't have Stepup

Last year I got an ATAR of 98 and my final school marks for spec, methods, physics and lit were 77, 82, 68, 84

Thanks for the info if you don't mind could you also share what you did to prepare for the Curtin interview.

Im not sure if my strategies and advice will help my friend cos I went to the UWA interview and not for Curtin

    • Hey guys I have a question for you on behalf of my friend who wants to apply for Curtin med this year

Do you remember what quartile you got for CASPER to get the interview?

He qualifies for Step-Up as well in case you need that information too

      • Please update here after main round of offers

        I will be back tmr

      • Hey also do u know what time the offers come out on Friday

Can you see it on TISC or does UWA email you?

      • Hey guys I know it’s been a while since ATAR results came out on Sat but are we all happy w what we got??

Just want to put some closure on this thread (which is over a year old now crazy!!) by reflecting on how we did over yr12 since we all pursued similar goals and dreams 🙂

I hope to see some of you at UWA which is where I’ll be going regardless of what happens

        • Imma still check at 12am cos my sleeping schedule f*cked up

But idk cos all my friends said they got theirs in the morning

        • Ya it’s so annoying how WACE is so obscure about almost everything

In other states like VIC, VCAA releases them at exactly 7:00 am so everyone knows the time

        • guys sorry for cluttering this thread but I also want to know what time on Sunday the results are released

just so I know not to stay up all night if they’re like released like late morning/afternoon instead of the moment it turns 12am

          • 2 days left from now….

          • not me looking at ATAR reaction videos from VCE cos they got theirs earlier this week 💀💀

          • @doe did you go to the interviews for med/dent at UWA last week

            • doe replied to this.
            • With a week and a bit to go until ATARs are released does anyone want to predict theirs?

and also what are you guys planning to study next year at uni?

I used medify although I have heard that medentry is better

              • yea that’s because your ATAR wasn’t competitive enough like mine also why my friend didn’t get in with 96+ predicted (he didn’t have step up like you did) so the chance of first round interview offers would be slim

However the second round interview offers are based on your actual final WACE ATAR which is why I said above that 95+ WACE with step-up should be enough.

Hope you manage to get the ATAR you need!! 😊

              • Well im not sure for curtin but for UWA they add on the +5 for Broadway regardless. I know because my predicted (97.45 in y11 sem 2 and 96.35 in y12 sem 1) were nowhere near the minimum of 98. So with the extra points given I was able to be considered for admission. It would make sense for Curtin to have a similar approach imo. Plus there are not as many strong students as you think from Broadway/Step-up schools so a lot of the ATARs even with the +5 aren’t really competitive.

As long as you get 95+ as a WACE atar I think you might be fine.

Also this is pasted from the curtin website:

‘If your ATAR is 70 or above, and you’re eligible for StepUp, you will receive five additional points, up to 99.95’

              • Idk man my friend with 84th UCAT and 96+ predicted ATAR didn’t get an interview

But i do want to ask how many points does Step-up curtin give bc u might end up with a really competitive ATAR like 99+ then u might get an interview as long as you did good for CASPER as well I think?

sorry idk anyone who got in second round

              • apparently there is no second round of interviews for UWA

But there is for curtin so there’s hope for us (except me) yet
