  • password123 I listen to songs that I could sing along to, like pop songs!
(probably the reason I can't concentrate)

  • password123 I dont listen to podcasts sorry😭 BUT IN A WAY I FIND THAT RELATABLE. I'm trying for year 10 because I missed the year 9 exam. What is motivating me the most is that my sister is trying for year 9 next year and if she does get in I won't really feel like an older sister because idk I feel like I have to be smarter to feel like one.😭Like to elaborate, I'd feel like a faliure

    • password123 I LOVE LISTENING TO MUSIC WHILE STUDYING! But for me, it distracts me because I only wanna listen to music. However, when I don't listen to music I lose motivation😭. So I'm trying to get into the habit of doing work without music.

      • ash73 Nope! You can still make it in without one! I got a friend who made it in with 2 high averages and 3 above averages! Just try not to get below average or average because that really gives you a low chance of getting in.

        • password123 same 😭 I'm just telling myself it'll be worth it. Try not to listen to music because it gives you the ability to concentrate better because you won't be listening to music during the exam so you might as well get used to it!

          • MMHS Yep! I go to a tuition called KM tuition (it provides us with Henderson and edu kingdom resources) and Pre uni victoria. Both are quite useful

          • MMHS If you're sitting for the year 9 2025 selection exam, it depends on the number of students in your year level. Not the amount of students taking the exam. This is called the 4% rule where the selective school you are applying to can only take 4% of your year level.
For example, if you were to have 100 people in your year level. Only 4 people can be accepted (or 0 if no one does well on the test.) One could have 3 superiors and still not get in because of the 4% rule. This is where the PD (principal discretion) come in. Those affected by the 4% rule are taken under the PD. PD is very competitive. The principal interviews you about why they should select you.

Anyways, good luck don't stress too much. I'm taking the year 10 exam for schs because I managed to forget to apply for the year 9 exam 😭

            • MMHS replied to this.
            • depends on how many people are in your grade. If there is a significant amount of students that are in your grade, chances are higher. However if there is a small amount of students, chances are low.

            • I am, i'm so nervous. I really have no tips but do you have some😭
