GY Hey GY, I actually self studied for the most part.. so not much tuition tips there. I'm aiming for either Melbourne high or Suzanne next year because most of my friends went there, but I really want to go to Suzanne. What school are you going for? (if you are doing it). For tips, I know from experience that it is extremely beneficial to practice vocab around this time before the test (which i didn't do last year). Also, keep practicing tests and material you think you struggle with, build a concrete plan and routine of what and how you are going to study each day and since this is year 10 entry they're going to check your extracurriculars. So, make sure to do something outside of studying. Personally, I am signing up for cadets, and I am extremely good at cross country as I placed second in my cohort (but second isn't good enough.. jk). I also play the piano and chess. All these tips are things I didn't think about last year when studying, and now that I have been mindful enough to start implementing these into my day, I can already feel a difference. The most important thing though, is to do what feels best to you. So study hard!
MMHS Hey, MMHS.. thanks for the kind words. They mean a lot. I honestly really want to chat with you, so here is my gmail.. singhpotato653@gmail.com. This should work this time. Have a good day!
FH 234 indeed
Hey y'all,
I didn't get in this year.. but i'm moving on with a positive attitude! (Or at least, that is what i am trying to do.)
I'm already preparing hard for SEHS next year, and am prudent of the mistakes I have previously made. Such as, not practicing vocabulary or doing enough mock tests to gain a feel of the actual test. I personally believe that doing more mock tests can really help, as they simulate the exam under time pressure. No wonder I was sweating my ass off in the actual exam. I got BA in reading comprehension, so that's the area I am focusing on the most. And I got averages in all other subjects apart from writing where I got top 20%. I definitely think that building a proper study routine enhances and improves the chances of your overall success. Because rather than relying on pure motivation to study, (which lacks clarity and consistency) you build a concrete plan of action, which you will follow each day. But regardless of my thoughts, do what works best for you! And I hope you all succeed in your paths and please give me and others like me some tips!- In Results
Hi guys, I didn't get in this year. However, this gives me utmost motivation to get in next year. My results were:
Reading: Below avg
Verbal: avg
Writing: top 20%
Math: avg
Qr: avgI personally feel that there is no point crying about my results, but to simply take it as a learning experience. So with that said, next year is gonna be a ride!
YR10SEHSASPIRANT Yeah, round 2.. but i'm not expecting much. I'm gonna start preparing for next year. Good luck to you!
Hey guys, don't know if you remember me.. I was on an eternity break, the reason being i needed to spend time with my family because my parents are divorcing and my mum is leaving. I don't want to get too personal, so going straight to the point that I got a rejection letter from acer. Congrats ,MMHS (i knew you would get in), [deleted] and MauryanBroski for getting in!
Skipped the decoding ones.. so say 4, then also a few words. Maybe 6-7
MMHS Noooo.. hold up, my password thingy isn't working. I'll fix it tomr, but till then gn.
MMHS Thanks bro, hopefully we all get in.
MMHS Yes, I also couldn't solve that one, ended up skipping it. Well, looks like you did great on english, for me my tops were writing and numerical. One thing I can't stop thinking about was my time management, like I keep on remembering this moment where the guy said there was five minutes remaining.. and I was on question 19 in math. Idk how on earth I'm alive rn, but regretting anything won't help in the long run. I should just keep my eye on the ball, and keep on grinding no matter if I get in or not. Good luck everybody, I just hope I'm not a cooked potato.
Ronaldo Numerical was definitely the hardest, but for some reason I preformed the best on it. Also, @MMHS Thanks a lot for sharing your outlook, for some reason my school admin banned sending messages to other schools.. if you want, my gmail is potatosingh653@gmail.com .

47 I also took the SEHS test, all the content I (and many others) studied for, wasn't even there. Oh well, now I'm a potato floating around in the void, desperately waiting for my results.
MMHS I put hypocrisy by ruling out every other option. But yeah, same answer either way..
MMHS Don't worry, I messed up too. I'm not sure whether I put exasperated or not.. I put disappointed... i think. Look, i was IN A HURRY. I can't wait for my results though
[deleted] Haha, i can relate. Also, I find it very funny that all of us either put AA or sup for both the writings. What did you guys write for creative? I wrote about some person being trapped in a cinema, hearing some whispers, then like.. smth. It was good though. My friend wrote something about summer camp.. then he took a closer look at the picture and realised, that he was cooked.
