  • MedEntry is Excellent for UCAT training in my opinion. The practice exams, mocks and tips and tricks are great for UCAT prep. Medify is a really good one too.

    Hope that helps πŸ™‚

I just sat the test on 14th July for the year 11 exam. Don't have great tips but here you go:

    • Remember to sleep well before the exam day and DON'T study a couple of days before. I did it, and trust me, it really helps.
    • On exam day, just pretend like you are solving a normal worksheet at home, I'm not too sure if this will work for you, but it did for me.
    • After you complete 10 questions, mark them on your answer sheet. (The answer sheet is separate) otherwise, you might leave yourself with 1 min at the end to do it for 60 questions.
    • For the creative writing bit, make sure you use at least one of the quotes/images provided, I nearly forgot. It's in the instructions, but you don't have time to read that!
    • For the reading comprehension part, read the question first, then the options, and then the text. It wastes a lot of time if you read the text first.
    • You WILL have to guess LOTS of questions, so make sure you make an educated guess. When you need to blindly guess (trust me you will have to due to time constrain) choose 'c' or the most recurring letter. Many people say it works. It's better than randomly selecting your answers.
    • Try to come a bit early to your examination place. Get used to the environment. You'll be less nervous, and the less nervous you are, the better.
    • To be honest, while you are waiting for the exam to start, everyone looks so smart. That can get a bit pressuring, but remember, they think the same of you. So you are really smart too πŸ™‚

Give it your best shot. Have a good night's sleep, breakfast, exercise, skincare, or anything that you find relaxing. I hope you do amazing!

    Hope this helps a bit

There is no specific score you need to pass. They look at your application first. From that, they choose a couple of people. They then look at their test results, and if they are decent enough, you get a interview call. If you pass the interview, you receive an offer at the school πŸ™‚

        • How was the year 11 entry exam? @ Macrob today?

Thank you so much for the advice and response and for taking time out from a busy life. It really helps. ☺️

        • Hey Joseph41

I just wanted some advice on some VCE stuff If you don't mind helping me out πŸ™‚

Is it a good idea to do VCE HHD units 3&4 without doing unit 1&2? Will it disadvantage me in some aspects? You mentioned you got a 50 in HHD, so any tips, tricks, or advice on that? I'm really struggling to choose my subject. Its either HHD or further. I've been doing Advance maths for 2 years now, so all my teachers recommend that I should do Further maths, but at the same time, I don't really like maths, and I feel more confident in HHD (not done it before) But I'm not too sure. What's the best thing to do if I skip HHD unit's 1&2 and directly do 3&4? Will I still have a chance of getting a 45+ study score?

Sorry to bombard you with questions, but any advice would be appreciated!

          Thanks in advance πŸ™‚)

Thank you so much for that resource! It helps a lot!

What year-level exam did you sit?

          • Hey everyone!

Anyone who sat the year 11 selective school exam in the previous years, can you please share the topics you got for your writing piece? There is not much on the internet to help with the year 11 selective exam πŸ™. It's all year 9 or so. If you know, or sat the exam, please let us know. Tips and tricks about the exam will also be much appreciated. 🌷

            Thanks in advance πŸ™‚

            • Hey! I'm stuck between choosing Biology or Psychology (unit 1&2) for VCE. I want to consider doing Medicine in the future, but obviously want to keep my options open. Which subject should I choose? Biology isn't really a 'prerequisite' for medicine in most universities, but definitely is 'recommended'. I'm not a fan of learning about DNA and cells and all that, but if it's necessary, or increases my chances, then I may consider it. I've got 5 days left to choose between them and I need help!

              Thanks in advance πŸ˜„
