  • ngl i though i was in a similar boat, but there are numerous resources online and prac sac's i'm sure your teacher has given you or you have access to online, and by going through those you can work out similar type questions there going to ask you and just memorise how to do them and understand them. Going through and doing the chapter tests for each topic too will really help bc by applying the skills your most likely to remember them and learn them faster as the sac is quite soon. There are also a few resources online for sac prep, which are around the level in between the application questions you will be asked and the textbook questions, which are a good stepping stone for learning the content. Also majority of the sac you can figure out with ur CAS so make sure you know how to do everything on it, it'll help heaps. Good luck!!

  • me123 Hey, I just completed our bioethical SAC last week. Majority of the questions were about the ethical considerations of our specific case study (GMO Bananas in Uganda battling Vitamin A deficiency), so covering the ethical arguments (for and against) of justice, integrity, non-maleficence, beneficence, and respect. We were also questioned about the frequency based approach, Duty/Rules based approach and virtues based approach. There wasn't too much about the actually theory behind it, besides PCR testing and the gel electrophoresis. There was also a bit on Plasmids, denaturation etc., taq polymerase, ligase and the rest, mainly about there importance or roles. But majority of the marks for our SAC were on ethics.
I hope this helped and good luck

Thankyou so much, I've been going through exam style questions here and there over the term so far to prepare for the SAC, but I'll continue to do many more. Thanks again especially for the NHT exam link, this was really helpful.

      • hey, I've got my first bio sac coming up, on ch1-5, so gene modification, GMOs, Crispr-cas9, enzymes and all that, does anyone have any tips or practice SACs there willing to share? I didn't do 1/2 Bio so anything will help. It's also a research project where we have to modify a gene or protein to improve the agriculture industry, so any help around that area would be amazing!
