  • DumbNerd Oh damn really? Chem was actually pretty easy this year as far as i thought

    • Jeff

I can understand why u prolyl found it hard, its cuz all the past papers (paper1) especially never had much of probability, but that wasnt the case with this one this one had so much probability so prolly stumped up quite a people.

    • sonia

Spec paper 1 was really hard (hoping bell curve got us), but Paper 2 was pretty easy

        jinx_58 "

terrible, probably the hardest tech free exam to exist, with all samples mocks and even 2020 included so messed bro so messed

      • What was that exam bro :

      • Max23

From what i've heard even if u use specialist concepts to solve questions, unless explicitly stated you get the marks. One of my teachers is a external marker and said for example you've got a methods question and u use like substitution to integrate and the question doesnt say u have to use a specific method u still get the marks

      • Akhi22

I get your trying to know how everything works which is a good mindset to have, but most important are questions do tonnes of question. Go beyond the work teacher puts on the onenote

        • Akhi22

Walk me through what your average study routine looks like more your subjects, tell me how you study for Maths exams or whatever other exam. Like what's your process

          • Ash444

What subjects do you enjoy in high school, and what about those subjects do you enjoy the most? For example I enjoy physics because it is applied maths into real world and I love seeing maths working out in real life. Answer that then yk

            • I'm Kinda confused on how the passing vs fail works for English. So far I am on a 51/75 for english, going into the external. So like even if I get 0 marks on the externals, I still pass overall right? And What about the QCE points?

              • Akhi22

Well I would suggest dropping maths methods after not succeeding even after studying really hard as you said. With QCE, provided he does six subjects he should still be fine as you need 20 QCEs to get the QCE certificate(not to graduate). I've heard the QCE is a useless thing no one ever looks at it.

That is true, see what I was thinking is because the scholarships are given out like December to January, Ill keep QUT first until the day before the preference deadlines and if I get it thats good Ill conditionally accept it, and if not Ill just make UQ first.

              • manorina

Wait so If i have UQ as second preference will they not consider me? Suppose my selection rank is 99.95, and UQ second preference would they not consider me?

              • Im Kind of confused in how to order my QTAC preferences. So Basically two courses Im considering are Bachelor and Masters of Engineering at UQ (97) and the Bachelor of Engineering and Masters of AI at QUT(91), now the thing is Im more inclined towards UQ so I've put UQ as a top preference (1st), and QUT as a 2nd preference. The problem is, Im aiming to get the QUT Excellence scholarship and you can only get it if you've placed it as your first preference and if you get a 98+ atar, so I want to change the preference from QUT 2nd to first, but Im unsure if UQ will accept me if I keep them as a second preference. I am predicted to exceed requirements for both, its just this thing Im unsure about, I've heard that people with 98.05 atar not getting in so Im kinda unsure.

                • jinx_58 Yoo I was just wondering what scholarship was this for? And which univeristy?

                  • piranha_plant

Being completely honest, its not going to change most likely. A friend of mine contested it too for a timeframe of 5 weeks, and nothing really happened they just led him on. Its quite tough dropping a mark, especially aiming for an ATAR that high, but if you look at the percentages that were moved up as compared to moved down its very much more towards the being moved down side. Especially after being endorsed by confirmers, its less likely to be rechanged.

                  • jinx_58

Oh Yea nah I do Spec Maths 50/50 for internals so far, its just I think it depends on if I get the Excellence scholarship at QUT or not, If i get it (98 Atar) Ill probably go to QUT, but I liked the UQ campus more, I felt QUT wasnt as hustling as UQ is so I was also considering after going into UQ I can apply for scholarships then.

                  • jinx_58
Hey Jinx, from your experience studying at QUT do you reckon QUT has good engineering industry partners? Like I know UQ is partnered with Boeing and stuff so its like probably easier scoring internships and jobs?

I personally found UQ campus to be much better, but like if QUT is much much better than I will sacrifice the campus life. My preference at UQ is the 5 year Bachelor and Masters Program (97 atar) and qut its the Bachelor and Masters of Robotics and artificial intelligence (91 atar).
