I'm of a chinese background, however, my essays are really bad and I don't think I can write every character on the character list provided by VCAA. I don't speak much chinese at home but my parents speak chinese to me. I only do well on all my SACs at school (around 90%) because I grind practice prompts for the topic our teacher says our sac will be on and the SACs are easy compared to other schools (especially since a few students in the class aren't of chinese background and only started learning chinese in year 9/middle school). If someone suddenly gave me a random topic to write about or talk about I'd probably fail. I used to go to XJS but I quit because I sucked and could only understand half of what the teacher was saying in class. My reading is somewhat decent. my teacher said I should continue with chinese but I'm not sure if I'm good enough or if I have the work ethic to practice chinese every single day. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm not sure whether I should do food studies or psychology next year (I'm dropping chinese). My subjects for year 12 are going to be methods, chemistry, english, art, and either food studies/psychology. The cooking part of food studies sounds fun, but a lot of people say the content is kinda dry and it scales down a lot. The content in psych sounds interesting but it's really content heavy and there's a lot of memorisation involved. I'm doing well in 3/4 busman this year if that helps.
Hii I'm a year 10 student and I have subject selections coming up soon. My school lets us do a 3/4 subject in year 11 without previously doing the 1/2 in year 10 and I'm struggling with choosing which subject to accelerate. I'm aiming for a 95+ ATAR.
Right now I'm thinking about either 3/4 bio or 3/4 business management. Some of the year 11s in my school said that biology is hard to accelerate and that 1/2 is really important for 3/4, however some also said that it's not that hard. I've heard that it opens up a lot of uni courses, and I'm currently leaning towards doing a medicine related course (although I'm really not sure what course I want to do in uni so my preferences are very likely to change). I don't particularly like or dislike bio, but I'm worried that it will take a lot of time away from my other subjects.
I wouldn't say I'm really passionate about business management either but I think I like it more than biology. I also feel like I'd do a lot better in business management than biology. I don't think I'll actually do a commerce or business course in uni though.
So far I'm planning to take:- Mainstream english
-Chemistry
-Methods
-Chinese SL
-Art Making and Exhibiting - Bio 3/4 or Business Management 3/4
Would Bio 3/4 or Business Management 3/4 be more useful for me?
Thankyouuuu TvT
