Chen yo! im having the exact same problem as you but slightly worse as im heading to vce with no real idea of what i want to do
the best advice i ever got was this:
whatever career you end up with post-school, its probably going to change. most people end up working at several jobs and industries over their lifetime! my dad got an mba and works in software. my mum was a banker that now works as a teacher. my aunt was a engineer that owns a sewing business!
prestige is important and i get it, i want a prestigious job too. i think the main thing is to consider your strengths, what you're good at, and what you actually like as well! almost every job has a prestigious element, especially at a post-grad level.
on work-life balance, no job is easy. that's (sort of) the point. as someone that HAS a job, imo work-life balance becomes easier if you can create boundaries between work and home and find a job you actually like.
my suggestion is to think about the subjects you do like at school and then work from there. research careers, and find one that interests you!
these websites help me a lot as a vce student who's getting harassed abt careers by my school and they should help you too π
