This is probably the worst question to ask me as these are my favourite subjects! This may not be super relevant to you as it is very specific to my school (basically just the teachers part) but a year 10 at my school asked me the same question. I'll copy paste my answer to her here because it's easier.
"economics is super laid back and vibey, especially because i currently have miss graham. she also teaches me in legal, but i just find the content in eco so much more fun (and for some reason we meme a lot. go in s1 and look behind right whiteboard theres a picture of an old man, yeah, thats from our eco class). economics is not necessarily "the study of money" or "the study of the economy" - its moreso the study of decision making (which typically involves money). so first semester we looked at microeconomics, which is focusing on specific businesses and markets, how they make decisions and what influences them. we also did a behavioural economics report, which is basically like, a psychology report about why all of economic theory is a lie. was super fun. second sem we're looking at macro, so the broad scale economy and especially the government. tbh this unit has been way more fun so far. as for the workload, i haven't had many issues so far. however, be aware that i've heard that the y12 workload is hard, because the sacs come up really quick but involve a lot of content. a question i had going into eco (which i'm not sure you will but i should mention) was "does it have maths?" - the answer is unfortunately yes but it's honestly like pissweak maths. i can handle and my maths level is like, year 7 level.
as for history, we first learn about the effects of ww1, the weimar republic (germany after ww1) and ww2, what caused it, its effects, etc. it's an extension of y10 history, but if you don't do y10 history that's totally fine too. most of my class didn't do it. right now we're learning about the cold war which is interesting, i'm enjoying it so far. we look at things like causation and effect (the most important history skills, if u cant tell from me mentioning it each time), vietnam war, korean war, cuban missile crisis and so on. in term 4, we'll be learning about the civil rights movements in south africa mostly. the workload is much less than i expected. also, i should mention that history is sometimes similar to english, in the sense that you have to write essays and analyse why and how things happened, and unfortunately, memorise quotes. but funnily enough, i don't really like english, but love history. your teacher will def be able to help you with the skills you need. also - if you don't like history i wouldn't recommend it. however, if you like history, i recommend it more than anything. it's hard when you don't have interest in it, but when you do, everything is much easier."
Bottom line is, do the one you're most interested in. Don't do what's easiest. Neither of them are easy. Do some research on the content and see how you like it.
