Sierra yea that is a common type of pattern they use
it can go like addition then subtraction and so on, and like simple ones aren't so common
it could be fibbonachi (sry idk how to spell it), multiplying, squares, triangle numbers, other functions or even in some cases they could be factorials
for the ones that are like in groups and ask to find the similarity it is usually within the group but it can just be like patterns in the numbers in the same location - idk if that makes sense
wait here's an example:
12 16 ?
5 6 7 8 9 10
in this case ? would be 20 cuz the top numbers are increasing by 4 - it doesn't always involve all the numbers to figure out yk
