Hello!!!!!!
School has actually started now. Today was my second day, as year seniors and year 7s start a day earlier than the rest of the school.
Because my school is abysmally unorganized, I only found out my teachers like, right before school. So far, I quite like them. I'm literacy captain, and the head of the literacy club is my English teacher, which is really lucky. I think she's lovely, however I also think she's the kind of teacher you need to warm up to, so I'm glad I already have an established enough relationship with her. The only thing is, I know she thinks highly of me, and I don't want her to think otherwise if my English stuff isn't great LMAO.
Today was quite eventful. In the morning, I had two frees and spent it with an ex-friend of mine - and had a good time. We chatted. We even helped each other with our work. It was insane. I hated her guts for a while because lol I get angry easily. So this was... oddly very nice. Then I had a double of economics, which was good. I got to know my teacher a bit more, who's brand new to the school. She's nice, but she's not the teacher I had last year. I think she needs some time to warm up to us, but she's kind and has a unique teaching style that I like.
Near my school, theres 2 shopping centres - one that is INCREDIBLY dinky where only old people go, and one thats slightly cooler and slightly further away. My friend and I wanted to go to the dinky one, and looking across the road we were like "god, we're severely fucked, look how many people from our school there are" and then they all ended up crossing the road to the other bus stop LMAO. So there were like 3 people from our school on our bus, which was awesome. I only went there because I really wasn't in the mood to study and I had the weirdest craving for lamingtons. I don't think I've ever wanted lamingtons in my life until today. Anyway. Because my friend and I work at that shopping centre I used my store's microwave and cooked my lunch - more on that in a sec. I ate that and ate my lamingtons, took the bus back and walked home. It was nice. I feel independent.
So, for my lunch - I've decided that I really need to curb how much I spend at the canteen and also just want to eat a bit healthier, and the canteen's food is 1. abysmally expensive (and has allegedly increased this year, like, a fucking large iced coffee is apparently 6 dollars. WHAT THE FUCK. WE ARE LITERALLY A POOR SCHOOL NO ONE CAN AFFORD THAT) 2. terrifyingly unhealthy. SO- I want to stop that. This week I made a plan. On Monday, when I didn't have school, I cooked a kilo of beef mince (with yummy flavours of course) and will just eat that with a different grain every day. Tuesday I had Taiwanese knifecut noodles. Today I had rice (for both lunch and dinner). Tomorrow will be a bit different, as I will be able to get some food from the city (which I know, is also expensive, but it's a new thing for me, so I'm looking forward to it!! It's part of the experience. Plus there's this one dumpling place I'm obsessed with).
Anyway. We were surprised to find that our year 12 jackets arrived on Tuesday, and I've collected mine. I got a size too big (like, bigger than oversized. #bodydysmorphia), but it still looks nice. Plus, one of my friends designed them (both sides of the reversible jacket)!! There was a whole dilemma about whether or not we are allowed nicknames on our jackets last year, and long story short, the principal is dense as fuck, doesn't really care about our safety, and also denied a petition with over 200 votes. SO. Fuck her. I seriously hate her. So we had no choice but to have our surnames on the jackets... which is incredibly unsafe, especially considering we live in a very unsafe area. The principal counter-argued that with "my son had his surname on his jacket, and he's fine!!" SHE FUCKING LIVES IN TOORAK I'M PRETTY SURE. Anyway. I got a bit heated there. Moving on.
I'm loving how many frees I have. It's new to me. I find that I'm actually very productive during them, and they motivate me to study when I get home too, for some reason. Maybe it's the dopamine crackling in my brain while I'm being studious at school, and seeking more at home.
My music stuff won't start until next week. Looking forward to it.
Welp!! That's all!!!!!!! Talk later!!
