Hi everyone! I completed VCE in 2022 with an ATAR of 99.85, as well as perfect study scores of 50 in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematical Methods. In 2023, I was awarded a Premier's VCE award in Biology, and have accumulated over 250 hours of tutoring. In 2024, I will be offering tutoring for VCE Biology and Mathematical Methods.
My lessons will be run with three core principles in mind.
1. A heavy emphasis on understanding and breaking down the nuances and "why's" behind each topic, which I believe is fundamental to answering any application question.
2. Learning clear, step-by-step approaches to tackling difficult "separator" questions i.e. not just understanding the answer itself, but the thought process from initially reading --> answering the question
3. Acquiring high utility, exam-focused techniques and strategies (such as breaking down the marking criteria of ambiguous biology questions, or systematic processes to reduce 'silly mistakes' in methods) that will help you maximise your marks across the various SACs and examinations throughout the year.
Additionally, of course I will be providing:
- Any assistance requested outside-of-class; be it answering questions or marking written responses etc
- Access to all the resources that helped me achieve the scores I did- including my bounded reference for methods and over 120 pages of handwritten notes that completely cover ever inch of the current VCE Biology study design
- Year-long support and advice for dealing with stress, burnout and managing the demands of VCE overall
** Also more than happy to provide mentorship and guidance for my students interested in studying medicine (I myself am currently studying medicine at Monash)
Having achieved amongst the very top of the state for the subjects that I am teaching, I believe that my wealth of knowledge and experience can greatly benefit any student, irrespective of what you are aiming for.
Lessons will be 90mins long and run weekly in extremely small groups of 2-4 students, ensuring that each student's personal concerns and questions can be thoroughly addressed. As such, feel free to bring along a friend or two. Alternatively, I will endeavour to place you with other student(s) of similar learning styles and goals, such that lessons can be better tailored to suit your individual needs
If any of this sounds interesting to you, or you have any questions at all; then please email me at freddotutoring@gmail.com; we can organise a call to see if I am the right fit for you!
