Hello Everybody, I just wanted to ask the people who are in JMSS and who are practicing for it, did/are you guys remembering the whole periodic table or just a limited amount of elements? Thanks everybody and also thanks for all your tips 🙂

atomic Hi! I actually didn't do too well on that component unfortunately, however @Ommahp made a post earlier in this discussion that I think explained it really well. Maybe try sticking to and practicing that format to avoid confusing yourself?

JMSSaspirant Yeah, the content is similar in regards to difficulty.

Jake65 You definitely don't have to memorise the whole periodic table!!! Just the first 20 elements will do!

Ty for tips everyone, I am also going for jmss entry 2025. I currently use strive for excellence practice tests, EDUTEST maths and numerical tests and icas for science. I was wondering if these sources are similar to the actual exam (for people who have used them), and how many questions exactly do we need to get right to get superior? I heard that to get a superior for mathematics you need to score >45/60. Is this true? What about science reasoning and numerical?

Also for science report, I've heard they give you a page of like methodology and results and ask you to write a discussion, do you only write a discussion? like as in do you need to write a complete science report, or are you supposed to leave out the parts already given?

Does anyone know what the most popular topic on the test will be? or have a prediction?

IDON'TGIVEUP that kinda depends on how smart u r now, if you aren't like rlly smart already I would say its nearly impossible to get into selective from 30 days of preparation, because it is significantly harder and competitive than yr9. Jmss however, from what I have heard, is fairly easy and not much studying is needed, so you def hv a chance for jmss

what do I need to learn for JMSS and help with Science Reasoning and writing please help me is the format and the topics that need to be covered If anyone has any practice paper for the science part if they are willing to give please help!

        Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say I really appreciate all of the tips so far,

I am also studying to try get into JMSS (2025) and I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with JAC tutoring as In school (current year 9 curriculum) I am able to achieve much better grades compared to the JAC practise tests (only around 40-60%) which Is around the average however the top marks are around 80-100 so it's definitely started to stress me out as a lot of the content has not been taught in school.

Adding on to that I am finding the maths on the JAC practise tests insanely difficult to the point I'm unable to complete them, when I am able to achieve better grades at school, olympiads or math competitions.

If anyone has some advice on what I should do that would be greatly appreciated! (sorry that sounds really broad and confusing but I'm starting to get stressed out as the examination date gets nearer.)
