It was an incredibly memorable experience. Our school provided us with free tickets and covered all our expenses for accommodation and meals. We participated in debating and public speaking competitions and secured second position in debating and first in public speaking. We also got the opportunity to create numerous fond memories with our team while sightseeing and staying up all night for three days 😅

studyhard_77 how would you recommend in practicing to get on the team? jut want to know the best way

Honestly, try out for inter-school debating competitions, even little ones. Talk to your debating teacher and let them know that you are interested. I did lots of DAV debates, made it to finals, and thus made it to the inter-state team. As for practice, learn how to write a debate under timed conditions. Also, practice for secret topics. This will not only prepare you for the actual debates, but it will be a great way of showing your capabilities and skills to get onto the team.

Is there a specific criteria for you to get onto the team?

studyhard_77 Well no because I’m already on one DAV team lmao! This year we made the D grade octos with me averaging a 77 regular and 77.5 in the playoffs as a third. Do you think that would be enough to be “good” enough for the state team?
